Jim and I went to one of the proms together. He was shorter than me but he was so much fun. Of course, at the time, I wanted to go with Luther but my Mother wouldn't let me. So Jim stepped up and asked me to the prom. I had a great time with him and am so glad he was such a good friend. We all miss Jim and his older brother who died from the same disease as Jim.

Jim succumbed to a hereditary ailment that also claimed his brother Dick. Jim liked fast cars and sometimes took part in the weekend drag races from Madison to Wirt. He also made some of the Saturday trips to the Olde E and Crossroads. Those of you that went know what that was all about. Sometimes the drive home could be a harrowing experience.

Jim is greatly missed by family and friends.

Jim was a great fried during school and afterwards. We had a lot of good times riding motorcycles and just hanging out. I remember right after school, the draft was still on and our numbers were low. So Jim and I one day decided that we would joing the Air Force. So we rode our cycles to Columbus and took some sort of exam at the air base - four hours later we were heading home wondering what we just did #$#%^(^&(&!. We both got a call, but never went back to officially sign up. Like Tim G., I too remember the many trips to Old-E and Cincy. I was also good friends Dick, Jim's brother. He and his wife were good friends. Dick and Jim both new that one day they may have to face the same illness as their mother. It is a tragedy to lose them both at such a young age. :>(
