Mike was a fighter to the end. He was diagnosed with cancer and met the challenge. In 2007 Mike and his family held a "Celebration of Life" event to support the Cancer Society's Relay for Life. That evening Mike showed grace and courage by greeting the people who came and speaking to the crowd about the support he had received from friends, but especially his wife Judy and his daughters. Wristbands that said "Celebrate Life" were sold also to support the event and to remind all of us that time is precious and not guaranteed. Mike passed away on January 8, 2008.

Mike is missed by all who knew him. Starr and I have Judy and the girls in our prayers. I remember how his dear parents were always in reach for Mike's many friends.Tim Getz
My remembrance of Mike is that he was not a physically big guy. But his tremendous spirit eclipsed his short stature. He was a good student, accomplished athlete, successful businessman, faithful husband, and loving father. He was highly respected and used his leadership skills while serving as our class president. Mike was involved in the community and sincerely cared about the needs of others. He fought a courageous battle to the very end and should be an example to us all. Sadly missed by all he touched.
