Kathryn Wheatley (Tolen)

Mrs. Kathryn A. Tolen, age 60, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at the Kentuckiana Medical Center in Clarksville, Indiana. Born February 7, 1950 in Brown County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Albert and Wilma Folks Wheatley.

Mrs. Tolen moved to Madison in 1966 after living in Jasonville and Edinburg, Indiana. She worked at the McDonald's Restaurant in Madison for ten years, and then as a photo lab technician at the Madison Wal-Mart for ten years before her retirement in 2002.

She was a member of the Bible Baptist Temple in Lancaster, Indiana, and liked to make jewelry, paint with oil, gardening, read and home carpentry.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Tolen, to whom she was married on November 10, 1967 in Madison; one daughter and son-in-law: Melissa and Mike Smith of Hanover; one son, Chris Tolen of Edinburg; one sister, Margaret Bennett of Deputy, Indiana; two brothers: Mike Wheatley of Clarksville, and Sonny Wheatley of Hanover; five grandchildren: Zachery Tolen, Andrew Edwards, Kaitlyn Edwards, Kristen Tolen and Timothy Tolen; and several nieces and nephews.

Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in her name.

Mother was diganosed with lung cancer in 2002 was only given two years to live.  But because her grandkids were her life she held on for eight years.   She was very strong and determined lady that endured alot.  May she rest in peace with no more pain
